These bracing wires are required to give the  Gabions internal stability while it is being filled.
 
When using  Gabions that are supplied 0.5m in height and 0.5m depth we recommend 1 bracing wire for each 500mm of length. One wire is placed at a 1/2 height as filling proceeds. When using RhinoWeld gabions that are supplied 1m in height and 0.5m in depth we recommend 2 bracing wires at each 500mm of length. One wire is placed at a 1/3rd height as filling proceeds.
